Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 9, 2026 • Last updated: October 2026

1. Overview and Acceptance

Welcome to Audiocollab. By registering an account or accessing our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Audiocollab provides an asynchronous, multi-track music collaboration workspace for music producers, audio engineers, artists, and their clients.

2. Ownership and Intellectual Property

You retain 100% full intellectual property ownership of all audio recordings, stems, mixes, lyrics, songwriting notes, charts, and attachments uploaded to your Projects. Audiocollab does not claim any copyright, publishing, mechanical, or performance rights in your musical compositions or sound recordings.

By uploading content, you grant Audiocollab a strictly limited technical license solely to host, transcode preview files (e.g. lossless FLAC and 320 kbps MP3 streaming copies), extract waveform visualizations, and stream files to authorized members of your Projects.

🔒 Zero AI Training Guarantee:Audiocollab will never use, analyze, scan, scrape, or license your unreleased audio, compositions, or lyrics to train, tune, or evaluate generative artificial intelligence, speech models, or machine learning systems.

3. Roles and Subscription Model

Under our collaborative subscription architecture (ADR 0002):

  • Project Owners pay for storage quotas and Project allowances determined by their active Membership Tier.
  • Collaborators and Reviewers operate on free accounts and can participate in unlimited external Projects without subscription fees.
  • Site Admins do not possess automatic access or override authority into private Projects (ADR 0005).

4. Acceptable Use and Security Invariants

Audiocollab is strictly designed for audio production and related creative assets. To protect platform integrity and user security:

  • Uploading executable files, installers, shell scripts, or binary plugins (including but not limited to .exe, .msi, .dmg, .pkg, .app,.dll, .vst, .vst3, .component, .aaxplugin) is strictly prohibited and rejected by our ingestion pipeline.
  • Attempting to exploit FFmpeg/ffprobe audio decoders, bypass signed URL expiration, or upload malicious archive files will result in immediate account termination.

5. Data Retention, Grace Periods & Locking (ADR 0004)

In the event of plan cancellation, non-payment, or tier downgrade:

  • 14-Day Grace Period: Following non-payment, all Projects remain readable and downloadable for 14 days. New uploads and comments are temporarily paused.
  • 90-Day Locked Storage: After Day 14, Projects are placed in cold storage. Streaming and downloads are disabled until reactivation. Automated warning notices are sent prior to deletion.
  • Downgrades: When an account is voluntarily downgraded to a tier with fewer allowed Projects, oldest projects are locked first. Locked projects from a downgrade are never automatically deleted.
  • Day 105 Purge: Projects remaining delinquent past the 90-day locked window are permanently deleted.

6. Termination and Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account at any time in your Account Settings. Upon confirmed deletion:

  • All Projects owned by you and their associated audio files in object storage are permanently deleted.
  • Your comments, stems, and contributions in other users' Projects are anonymized to "Deleted user" with all personal identifiable data erased.
  • Your authentication credentials are fully purged from Firebase Auth.

7. DMCA Copyright Notice & Takedown Policy
